Use of Facilities
Fees:
- Free for private or non-commercial use.
- $10 per hour for use by commercial groups.
Reservations:
- Reservations are first-come, first-served.
- May be made up to (48) hours in advance.
- May be made up to six (6) months in advance.
The Library:
- Has first priority for use of facilities.
- Does not deny use on the basis of race, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, political affiliation or physical limitation.
- Does not endorse any position expressed by anyone using the facilities.
- May deny requests for use or suspend privileges in accordance with policies and procedures.
Groups:
- Will be considerate of library patrons and activities and will not disrupt or conflict with normal operations or services.
- Will ensure that attendees comply with all library policies and procedures.
- Shall indemnify and hold harmless the Zion-Benton Public Library District for any and all accidents.
- Are responsible for their own publicity and will clearly state in all advertisements, announcements, press releases, flyers, etc. that the event is not sponsored by the Zion-Benton Public Library District. The library’s telephone number may not be used for any purpose and the library is not to be included as a source for further information about the event.
- May not charge an admission fee or otherwise solicit funds, and will not sell literature, pamphlets or merchandise, except for items sold during library-sponsored or co-sponsored events.
- Will leave facilities clean and orderly. Will avoid serving items that are likely to stain furniture or carpeting.
- Will provide adequate adult supervision of minors at all times.
- Will conform to all local, state and federal laws, to applicable Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, and to all fire and safety regulations, including maintaining unobstructed exits and open aisle space.
- May use facilities up to 12 times during any six month period.
- Will provide a knowledgeable operator for any equipment requested.
- Will reimburse the library for any damages that occur.
- May file a written appeal with the Library Board of Trustees if denied use of the facilities.
