Help for Hard Times

Posted by zblibrary on May 26, 2009

The library offers a great head start for job hunters. We have information on careers, preparing for exams, books on resumes and how to give interviews, current newspapers and magazines, free Wi-Fi, free electronic databases, computers with business templates, and expert staff to help you find the information you need.

LearningExpressLibrary, just one of the e-Resources available, provides on-line help with GED preparation, job search and workplace skills, practice for writing and basic math, preparation for U.S. Citizenship, and a wealth of practice tests, including the Commercial Driver’s License, civil service tests, ACT, SAT and ASVAB tests. There’s also help with crafting a resume and strengthening job search and interviewing skills.

The library also makes it easy to connect to the Job Center of Lake County @ the library.   The Job Center of Lake County is a free resource that provides career, education and work-support information to all county residents. Ask a librarian for details.
