The Board of Trustees of the Zion-Benton Public Library District invites applications for Trustee to fill an unexpired two-year term through April 30, 2015.
Applications are available online and at the library circulation desk. Click here to download an application. Applications should be returned to Nann Blaine Hilyard, Library Director, by May 22, 2013, in person, by mail, or by email. Interviews will be conducted shortly thereafter by the current Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the library district. The trustees’ primary responsibilities are to employ and supervise the Library Director, adopt the library district’s strategic plan, determine library policies, determine the annual budget and tax levy, and approve and audit the library district’s expenditures.
The Board conducts its business through monthly regular board meetings on the fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Trustees are also assigned to serve on board committees.
Library trustees must reside in the library district (Beach Park, Winthrop Harbor, Zion, or unincorporated Benton Township) and must be registered voters.
