Please join  us as we offer a new educational program to help Zion’s adults develop basic literacy and numeracy skills.

This new Learning Gym program is 100% FREE to the public and will take place each Thursday morning at the Zion-Benton Public Library, Meeting Room A from
Thursday, April 5th through Thursday, September 27th for a 6-month pilot program.

This is not a “class,” but instead directs program participants to complete specific “modules” individually with the assistance of volunteer tutors, provided by the Waukegan Public Library.

Silhouette Cutting Machine: June 5

If you are a scrapbooker or a crafter and would like to learn how to use a Silhouette Cutting Machine, stop in every 1st Tuesday to learn how.

If you know how to use Silhouette Cutting Machine and would like to work on a project, stop in the last two Tuesdays of the month.  You must bring your own supplies; we’ll provide the machine and the software

Sewing: June 7, 14, 21, & 28

If you would like to learn how to use a sewing machine, stop by The Sandbox every 1st Thursday to learn how.

If you know how to use sewing machine and would like to work on a project, stop in the last two Thursdays of the month.  You must bring your own fabric; we’ll provide the machine and thread.

In this program, guests will learn that using a recipe with only a few ingredients but by using them properly they provide incredible flavors. “Less to Impress” so our theme for this program.  Chef Maddox will demonstrate a great menu utilizing the fresh ingredients found in gardens, local grocery stores and farmer’s markets.  Chef Susan will illustrate and discuss some great methods and techniques which make your time in the kitchen more efficient and fun! This is surely an evening not to be missed.
