Jennifer D. Smith
Jennifer D. Smith is an educator and student affairs professional who has worked in Higher Education for over 15 years. She holds a Master of Arts in Human Performance Improvement from Roosevelt University, a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from North Central College.

Jennifer is a native Chicagoan, but has been a resident of Zion for over 10 years and is passionate about her adopted hometown. In addition to serving as a Trustee for the Zion-Benton Public Library District, she serves as the Secretary for the Coalition for Healthy Communities and has been invited to join Zion Police Department’s Community Advisory Committee.

Jennifer is eager to bring her skills and passions to the Trustee role, as she continues to learn more about the needs of the community and paths to better engagement. Jennifer has always believed in the power of the public library to not only serve its citizens but to inspire and change people and communities.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, attending cultural events, visiting art museums, and spending time with her family and friends where plenty of laughter ensues.
