ZB Teens

Programs in The Sandbox are for teens in grades 6-12, but some programs are open to kids in grade 5 and others are even open to adults! Check the current calendar for program dates and age ranges.

SHIP IN VOLUME websiteHave you wanted to sign up for OwlCrate but don’t want to drop the cash? Then sign up for our Ship in Volume Book Subscription Box and you will get a new YA book and a box full of themed goodies. What’s even better? You get to keep the box and everything inside!

This subscription box will be limited to ten people per month, and you may register for all three months. If no spots are available, you will be placed on a waiting list. To subscribe to our subscription box, simply email elisem@zblibrary.org or message ZB Teens on Facebook (ZB Teens) or Instagram (@bees_in_the_hive) with your name and email address. We will notify you when your box is ready for pick up at the library! Your box will be held for pick up at the desk in The Sandbox for one week after you have been notified. If you fail to pick up your box, it will go to the next person on the list.

May- All the Feels (Realistic Fiction)
June – A Whole New World (Fantasy)


DRAWING CONTEST WEBSITE

Our 3rd annual Teen Drawing Contest is here! Submit your best original piece of artwork for the chance to win a $100 gift card. Contest begins April 1st and ends on April 30th at 9:00 PM. See below for full contest rules and details.
Contest Rules:
-Entries are due on Monday, April 30th by 9:00 PM
-Submissions may be handed into The Sandbox or sent via email to Elise Martinez at elisem@zblibrary.org.
-You may use any medium of art including digital art.
-All artwork must be original. Trademarked characters such as Spongebob, Naruto, etc. will be not accepted.
-Please include your full name, grade, and contact info (email, phone number) on your entry.
-Gift cards will be given to first ($100), second ($50), and third ($25) place contestants.

-There will be one category for grades 6-12.

Once the contest ends, library staff will vote for first, second, and third place winners. All winners will be notified by May 6th, 2018. Want to see previous year’s winners? Head to the ZB Teens Facebook page and click “Photos” to access the Teen Drawing Contest album.

We are located in the Information Services Department of the library where the old computer lab used to be. In The Hive, you’ll find a 3D printer, art supplies of all kinds, jewelry making supplies, electronic circuitry boards, and so much more.
