Amy Onan, President

Amy Onan offers a wealth of experience and her professional background has a blend of skills ranging from workforce development, youth advocate, higher education, government, social services and community outreach.

She holds a Bachelors in Arts with a focus on Psychology and a certification in Criminal Justice. Amy is a resident of Zion and has participated in Zion Benton Leadership Academy as well ILEAD, a leadership program offered through Lake County which inspired her to become more involved in her community. She became an elected official for the Zion-Benton Public Library Board in 2015 and reelected in 2021 serving as president. Recently she has also become a member of the Village of Winthrop Harbor Economic Development Commission.

She is a dedicated, energetic, creative, self-motivated individual who has a passion for community, especially youth. Amy is excited to be a part of the continuous relationship building with the community and its businesses to increase the sustainability within Lake County.
