NOTICE OF OPENING FOR BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees of the Zion-Benton Public Library District invites applications for a Trustee to fill an unexpired six-year term through April 30, 2029. While the term expires in 2029, interested candidates will need to run for election in the April 1, 2027 election to complete the term. The appointment will be in effect from May 2026 until April 2027.

Meetings: The Board conducts its business through monthly regular board meetings on the last Tuesday of every month starting at 6:30 p.m. Trustees are also assigned to serve on board committees. Committee of Whole workshop meetings are scheduled for second Tuesdays of the month as needed. 

Requirements: Library trustees must reside in the Library District (Beach Park, Winthrop Harbor, Zion, or unincorporated Benton Township), must be registered voters, and have paid their taxes to the District.

The Zion-Benton Public Library Board of Trustees will hold a committee of the whole meeting which shall take place Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 6:30 PM for the purpose of discussing the agenda items. Notice and agenda can be found here: https://zblibrary.info/board-of-trustees/
