Prevailing Wage Rates

TAKE NOTICE that of the Board of Trustees of the Zion-Benton Public Library District, pursuant to “An Act regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works by the State, county, city or any public body or any political subdivision or by anyone under contract for public works,” approved June 2016, as amended, has determined on, and as effective from June 28, 2016, that the general prevailing rate of wages in this locality for laborers, mechanics, and other workers engaged in the construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the Zion-Benton Public Library District is the same as determined by the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois for Lake County as of June, 2016. A copy of the full Ordinance and the Department of Labor determination is available for inspection by any interested party in the main office of the Zion-Benton Public Library District, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion, IL, and to any employer; association of employers and any person of employee or association of employees who have filed, or file their names and addresses, requesting copies of the same.

Notice is given pursuant to the Public Funds Statement Publication Act of the availability of an audit report for the Zion-Benton Public Library District.

The audit report:

1. Covers the time period from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015;
2. The audit was conducted by Milburn Cain & Co., certified public accountants;
3. The audit report is available for inspection at the Zion-Benton Public Library District, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion, Illinois between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Saturday, except for holidays.

RESOLUTION TO DETERMINE AN ESTIMATE OF FUNDS NEEDED FOR 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR

WHEREAS, the Zion-Benton Public Library District must file on or before December 31, 2015, its Levy Ordinance for the 2015-2016 fiscal year; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to “The Truth in Taxation Act” (35 ILCS 215/1 et. seq.), the Zion-Benton Public Library District must determine not less than 20 days prior to adoption of its Levy Ordinance the amounts of money estimated to be necessary to be raised by taxation for the 2015-2016 fiscal year upon the taxable property in said Library District, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND DETERMINED by the Board of Trustees of the Zion-Benton Public Library District that the amount of money estimated to be necessary to be raised by taxation for the 2015-2016 fiscal year upon the taxable property in said Library District shall be $2,182,900.

ADOPTED pursuant to roll call vote on this 22^nd day of September, 2015.

Notice is hereby given by the Zion-Benton Public Library District in the City of Zion, County of Lake, State of Illinois, that a tentative budget and appropriation of said library for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015 is on file and conveniently available for public inspection at the Library’s Circulation Desk, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion, IL 60099.

Notice is hereby further given that a public hearing on said budget will be held at 6:30 p.m. on September 22, 2015 in Meeting Room B at the Zion-Benton Public Library District, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion, IL 60099.

Public Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, by Ordinance adopted on the 28^th day of July, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Zion-Benton Public Library District determined to levy an additional tax of 0.02% of the value of all the taxable property in the District, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, for the purchase of sites and buildings, the construction and equipment of buildings, the rental of buildings required for library purposes, and maintenance, repairs and alterations of library buildings and equipment, said tax levy to be effective for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. The text of said Ordinance is set forth below.

The question of levying a 0.02% tax shall be submitted to the electors of the District if a petition is filed with the Board signed by 2509 registered voters in the District asking that the question of levying said 0.02% tax be submitted to the electors of the District. Said petition must be filed within thirty (30) days after publication of this Public Notice. The date of the prospective referendum is March 15, 2016.
